My blog just turned 3! It really doesn’t seem that long. I’d like to thank all my followers for making it possible.
We saw Shutter Island last night and I have to say, Scorsese hasn’t lost it in the least; in fact, I think he’s found something new in his repertoire. Don’t listen to the bad reviews and the people talking about how awful the ending is. And if you find yourself wondering what you’ve gotten yourself into about one third to one half of the way through, like I did, stick with it. The movie is masterful. So is the acting and the directing.
The movie is a cross between two of my favorite movies but to name those movies would be revealing something about the ending. It’s definitely dark and twisted (just to warn you) and I couldn’t help thinking of David Lynch of all people at certain points, but in a good way. Just have faith in Mr. Scorsese and you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve turned off the link between my Google Reader shared items and this blog so there will be far less noise. I intend to start posting more original content, starting with today’s post.
